Our offertory prayer says, “Merciful Father, We offer with joy and thanksgiving what you have first given us: ourselves, our time and our possessions signs of your gracious love.  Receive them for the sake of him who offered himself to us, Jesus Christ our LORD.”  Because God first loved us, He provides for us like a loving father provides for his children through all of the gifts that He gives us:  the qualities we possess, the money we make, and each new day.  As we consider how to respond to His gracious giving, the Bible gives us guidance in 2 Corinthians 9:7.
